So what makes a great Margarita?  There are several factors to consider when deciding on which margarita recipe to use.  You will need to think about which types of tequila, which types of liqueurs, what ratios to mix them in and whether or not to use a margarita mix or fresh ingredients.

Liqueur ratios for margarita recipes

• 2:1:1 = (50% tequila, 25% Triple Sec, 25% fresh lime or lemon juice)
• 3:2:1 = (50% tequila, 33% Triple Sec, 17% fresh lime or lemon juice)
• 3:1:1 = (60% tequila, 20% Triple Sec, 20% fresh lime or lemon juice)
• 1:1:1 = (33% tequila, 33% Triple Sec, 33% fresh lime or lemon juice)

Looking for a great margarita but dont want all the carbs?  Here is a great low carb margarita recipe – this calls for the following:

• 1 tub Crystal Light lemon-lime drink mix
• 2 cups water
• Juice of one lime
• 8 oz. tequila
• 6 oz. Grand Marnier
• 4 oz. Presidente Mexican Brandy
• Ice

To make this margarita, place all ingredients in to a margarita machine or frozen drink machineshaker and shake, strain and pour in to a salted margarita glass.

• 5 ounces tequila
• 3 ounces fresh lime juice
• 1 ounce sweetened lime juice
• 3 ounces triple sec or another orange-flavored liqueur
• ice

To make this margarita, place all ingredients in to a margarita machine or other frozen drink machine, and blend until smooth.  Serve in either salted or unsalted margarita glasses.

Here is a great margarita recipe from Margarita Texas.com

For this recipe you will need the following:

• 2 ounces 100% blue agave tequila (such as Herradura Silver)
• 1 1/2 ounces Rose’s sweetened lime juice (or fresh squeezed)
• 3/4 ounce Cointreau
• Splash sweet-and-sour mix
• Fresh lime juice
• Kosher salt (optional)

Fill a glass or cocktail shaker with ice. Add all ingredients except lime juice and salt. Shake vigorously. Dip the rim of a margarita glass into lime juice and then into salt. Fill the glass with crushed ice. Strain the margarita into the ice-filled glass and serve. Alternately, combine ingredients in a blender filled with ice. Blend until thoroughly mixed. Pour into a margarita glass and serve.

Here is another rereshing margarita recipe, but in this margarita we will us fresh pineapple!  This margarita recipe uses the following ingredients:

• 1 cup of your favorite tequila
• 6 ounces of fresh pineapple juice
• 2-3 ounces of fresh cut pineapple cut in small chunks
• 2 to 2 1/2 cups ice

To make this margarita, place all ingredients in to a margarita machine or other frozen drink machine, and blend until smooth.  Serve in either salted or unsalted margarita glasses.
